As the end of the year approaches, most of us are preoccupied with holiday festivities and travel plans, school breaks and gift buying. It’s a fun time of year and worth celebrating with family. However, it’s also a great time of year to get the maximum benefit from the health insurance you’ve been paying into all year, if you’ve met your deductible. Meeting your insurance deductible means you no longer have to pay out of pocket for most procedures, beyond your standard co-pay. It can save you a great deal of money on certain covered surgeries and procedures.

If you have met your deductible for the year, you can take advantage of the investment you’ve already made in your health by scheduling an appointment before the end of the year for covered services. While we are already booking into January, we do have a limited number of slots available to help you avoid paying more out of pocket than necessary. Just give us a call and we’ll try to work with you – just let us know when you call what you’re trying to do.
Before Your Deductible Resets, Consider These Procedures
While you should check with your insurance carrier to make sure your procedure is covered, most comprehensive eye exams, diabetic eye exams, cataract surgeries, and some LASIK services are covered by insurance. The benefit of scheduling these appointments before the end of the year is to avoid having to pay additional costs out of pocket that aren’t covered. Of course, if you’re not close to meeting your deductible, you’re better off scheduling the appointments in January to get a head start on making your 2020 deductible as soon as possible.
